Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga was linked with a move to Newcastle United during the summer transfer window.

The Magpies submitted a substantial offer to sign the 22-year-old on deadline day, but they failed with a move for the Swedish winger. The player has now revealed that he has spoken to Alexander Isak regarding a potential move to Newcastle.

“Isak talked to me about it. But I said the same to him as I say to you. We have a good relationship and good chemistry when we play together. But I have a contract with Nottingham.”

Elanga has revealed that the interest from Newcastle suggests that he is doing well in his career, but he is focused on the task at hand and he has a contract with Nottingham Forest.

The player told Fotboll Skanalen: “The environment in Nottingham is good. It is clear that you can see that Newcastle are interested, it means that I am playing good football when a big club shows interest. But Nottingham is also a big club, they have won two Champions Leagues, even though it was before I was born. But I’m happy in Nottingham and have a contract there.”

Elanga could form a partnership with Isak

It will be interesting to see if Newcastle decide to renew their interest in the winger in the upcoming January transfer window. They could certainly use more quality and depth in the wide areas.

The 22-year-old has played with Isak for the national team and they could form a quality partnership at Newcastle as well. The Magpies have an exciting project and they have the resources to build a terrific squad. The Swedish winger will certainly want to be part of that if the opportunity comes his way.

Elanga has been very respectful of Nottingham Forest while discussing the Newcastle interest, and they will certainly be impressed with the way he has handled the transfer speculations.

The Premier League side will hope to hold onto the 22-year-old for as long as possible.

Newcastle United are reportedly ready to try again for Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga in the January transfer window after missing out on a £50million deal late on in the summer.

Newcastle ended up having a relatively quiet summer in terms of new signings, but it seems there was strong interest in Elanga late on, and the Magpies will now likely revisit their pursuit of the former Manchester United wide-man when the window opens again in January, according to Football Insider.

The report states that Newcastle tried to sign Elanga for around £50m, but it makes sense that Forest have so far been keen to hold on to the Sweden international, who has been a key player for them, having improved since his difficult spell as a youngster at Man Utd.

Anthony Elanga remains a target for Newcastle United

Elanga transfer could be a good move for Newcastle

It’s easy to see Elanga having a positive impact for a club like Newcastle as well, so his situation will be an interesting one to keep an eye on in the weeks and months ahead.

Newcastle already have an excellent winger in the form of Anthony Gordon, so it’s not entirely clear if they need another similar player in Elanga, but it would certainly make Eddie Howe’s side a really potent attacking force, with plenty of pace and quality out wide.

Football Insider claim NUFC have been tracking Elanga for a long time, and had a Deadline Day bid rejected for the 22-year-old, but it seems this story isn’t over just yet.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has scored a stunning goal from outside the box to level the score for Wolves.

Nottingham Forest took the lead in the 10th minute through Chris Wood’s towering header.

But just two minutes later, Wolves had the score level thanks to a truly incredible strike from the French midfielder.

The Wolves man fires in a first time strike from way out, sending it straight towards the top corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance to save it.

Watch the goal of the week contender below:

Newcastle United are reportedly exploring a significant move to sign Nottingham Forest attacker Anthony Elanga before the transfer window closes.

According to the latest from TalkSport, the Magpies are set to make a last-minute attempt to secure the services of the Swedish forward, formerly of Manchester United.

The report indicates that Nottingham Forest are demanding around £35 million for the 22-year-old, with discussions between the two clubs said to be progressing.

This isn’t the first time Newcastle have shown interest in Elanga; they previously pursued him earlier in the transfer window but were unable to finalise a deal at that time.

Now, with the deadline looming, there is growing anticipation that a deal could be completed.

However, securing Elanga might not be straightforward.

Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett reports that Newcastle have already had a £35 million bid rejected by Nottingham Forest, who are holding out for an even higher offer.

Dorsett suggests that it will take a “silly offer” from Newcastle to convince Forest to part with the Swedish international at the last minute.

Should the transfer go through, Manchester United stand to benefit financially from the move.

Manchester United set to gain financially if deal goes through

Elanga joined Nottingham Forest from United for £15 million earlier this year, and as part of that deal, United included a sell-on clause.

This means the Red Devils will receive a portion of any transfer fee Forest secures for Elanga, potentially earning them a significant windfall if the deal is finalised.

As the transfer window draws to a close, all eyes will be on whether Newcastle can finalise a deal for Elanga, bolstering their attacking options for the season ahead.

Crystal Palace have been one of the busiest teams during the closing stages of this summer’s transfer window.

The Eagles are set to sign Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal with Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix expected to join before Friday night’s deadline.

And according to a recent report from We Are Palace, Oliver Glasner is hoping to make it three Deadline Day signings.

Nottingham Forest keeper Matt Turner, who Arsenal sold 12 months ago for just £7 million, is the Eagles’ top choice to replace the recently departed Sam Johnstone following his move to Wolves.

Matt Turner could join Crystal Palace.

With Turner, along with Carlos Miguel and Matz Sels, one of three senior keepers at Forest, it makes sense for the Trees to cash in now as they look to ease their own PSR problems following nine first-team signings this summer.

During Turner’s first year at the City Ground, the American, who has three years left on his deal, has kept three clean sheets in 21 games in all competitions.

Nottingham Forest have been handed a potentially significant boost in their pursuit of West Ham United’s James Ward-Prowse.

The Trees have enjoyed another busy transfer window; bringing in nine new players, including midfielder Elliot Anderson from Newcastle United.

However, according to recent reports, Anderson may not be the only central midfielder arriving at the City Ground this summer.

West Ham open to offers for James Ward-Prowse

Speaking live on Sky Sports News, presenter Pete Graves issued an update on Nuno Espirito Santo’s pursuit of Ward-Prowse.

“Breaking news reaching us all the time, and this one has come from our reporter Dharmesh Sheth,” he said.

“Nottingham Forest, we’re told, are exploring the conditions of a deal to sign James Ward-Prowse from West Ham.

James Ward-Prowse could leave West Ham.
James Ward-Prowse could leave West Ham on transfer Deadline Day.

“West Ham of course signed Ward-Prowse from Southampton, an England international, we’re told that West Ham are not actively looking to let him go, but here is the key: They may be open to offers and Nottingham Forest are sniffing around James Ward-Prowse.”

Ward-Prowse is one player who could move on before Friday night’s transfer deadline.

The 29-year-old, who was signed by David Moyes just one year ago, is not as highly rated by new manager Julen Lopetegui, who appears to favour a midfield trio of Guido Rodriguez, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus.

It is also likely once Edson Alvarez returns from injury, the Mexican will be immediately reintroduced to the first-team, forcing Ward-Prowse even further down the Hammers’ pecking order.

Consequently, the possibility of joining Forest could be an appealing option for the deadball specialist, who is valued at £25 million (TM).

During his first season at the London Stadium, Ward-Prowse, who has three years left on his contract, has scored seven goals and registered 11 assists in 53 games in all competitions.

Liverpool have turned down an offer from Nottingham Forest for goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

That is according to the latest from reputable journalist Paul Joyce, who claims that the proposed offer was well below their valuation of the player. He also adds that the club are not looking to sell him either.

Taking to X, he shared the following update:

“Liverpool have rejected a bid from Nottingham Forest for Caoimhin Keller. Offer well below Liverpool’s valuation and the club was not looking to sell.”

Liverpool have turned down a bid from Nottingham Forest for Caoimhin Kelleher

Kelleher is regarded highly at Liverpool

This isn’t the first instance of the Merseyside club turning down an offer for the 25-year-old. In January, Forest made a deadline day bid of £15 million for him, which they also declined.

Kelleher is regarded as a key player at the club, serving as the immediate backup to first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

His role becomes crucial during Alisson’s absences, and his contributions have proven significant over the years.

Kelleher has become a fan favourite due to his impressive performances in domestic cup competitions.

His most memorable moment came during the 2022 League Cup final, where he scored the decisive penalty in a shootout against Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga, securing the trophy for the Reds.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Andersen is set to come up against his former side Newcastle on Wednesday night when the teams lock horns in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Andersen left Newcastle this summer for a reported fee of £35m as the Magpies looked for ways to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.

The deal also saw Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos move in the opposite direction but the Greek international hasn’t even made the match day squad for the opening two games.

Andersen set for Newcastle reunion

Andersen made his debut from the bench in the draw against Bournemouth before starting Saturday’s 1-0 victory away at Southampton.

Speaking in the build-up to the game Howe expressed how Newcastle haven’t only lost a great player but also a brilliant person from the squad.

Elliot Anderson in action for Nottingham Forest.
Andersen is set to face former side Newcastle on Wednesday.

“Watching their game in preparation for this, it was good to see Elliot play so well against Southampton,” he told his pre-match press conference.

“I thought he was excellent. He really contributed to their performance in midfield.

“There’s a bit of sadness for me because we’ve lost an outstanding not just player, but person as well. From the group, we wish him well.”

Andersen came through the ranks at Newcastle and made 55 appearances for the Magpies before leaving the club earlier this summer.

However, in more positive news Newcastle have been handed a huge boost with Sandro Tonali set to return to action following his lengthy ban for betting, although given the Italian hasn’t played football for a while it would seem unlikely he get’s thrown straight back into the starting line-up.

In other news the Magpies are still trying to complete a deal for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, but they are reaching crunch time with the deal after having four offers rejected, and it could be getting to the point where they need to start moving for alternative options.

It was a foregone conclusion that with so many new signings being made by West Ham United, that sooner or later some players would have to be sold.

New first-team coach, Julen Lopetegui, has had long enough in the job now to know what he’s after from his players, and to understand which players can deliver what he needs.

The Irons were excellent in their 2-0 away win at Crystal Palace, a fixture where they were thumped 5-0 at the back end of last season.

How times change.

West Ham could sell James Ward-Prowse this week

Under David Moyes, the Hammers played with a lot more caution than Lopetegui’s swashbucklers, and they relied on the accuracy and reliability of James Ward Prowse’s set-piece delivery and passing ability in transition.

Under the Spaniard, the talented midfielder has barely had a look in.

According to WhoScored, Ward-Prowse has played for just 16 minutes of West Ham’s two opening games of the season.

West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse has only played for 16 minutes this season
West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse has only played for 16 minutes this season

That has piqued the interest of Nottingham Forest according to Football Insider, who also note the player’s 18 goal and assist contributions for the East Londoners last season.

On the face of it, selling Ward-Prowse would appear to be an odd decision given how technically perfect he remains, however, at 29 years of age, he’s getting no younger and perhaps the club are intending to cash on him whilst they can.

From Lopetegui’s point of view, it’s clear already that he has his own ideas of how he wants things to run, and if he’s able to put a good run together in his opening few games, the Hammers faithful will give him the benefit of the doubt.

His next Premier League test will arguably be his biggest as Man City visit the London Stadium, and after losing at home to Aston Villa on the opening day, it’s a fair bet the Spaniard won’t want another home loss on his resume so soon after the previous one.

Nottingham Forest are set to make a late move for Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma, according to reports.

Forest have already invested heavily this summer, with the likes of Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenkovic and Ramon Sosa arriving for substantial fees and Alex Moreno signing on loan from Aston Villa.

But Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to further boost his attacking options in the final days of the transfer window, with Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah reportedly nearing a move to the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest to move for Danjuma

Forest’s offensive push seemingly won’t end with the capture of Nketiah.

According to Football Insider, the Midlands side are also lining up a bid for Danjuma — a player they’ve long admired.

Their report states that Villarreal are ‘prepared’ to let the six-time Netherlands international leave this summer despite him starting the season with two goals in their first two La Liga matches.

The player would prefer a permanent move rather than a loan as he seeks stability in his career.

Struggles at Everton and Spurs

Danjuma has endured a couple of tough years in England, with back-to-back loans with Tottenham and Everton failing to take off.

The 27-year-old managed just 12 appearances for Spurs, scoring twice, while at he played 20 times for the Toffees — mostly off the bench — scoring another two goals.

His only Premier League goal for Tottenham came in a 3-2 home defeat by Bournemouth, after which the Spurs fans booed their team off the pitch. He also scored in a 3-0 win at Preston in the FA Cup.

Both of his goals for Everton came within the space of four days at the start of last season. Danjuma opened his account for the Goodison Park outfit by bagging a late winner at Doncaster in the EFL Cup. He followed up that strike by scoring in a 2-2 Premier League draw at Sheffield United, but then failed to find the net in his final 15 appearances for the club.

However, Danjuma has experienced success in England as well, with his 17 goals and eight assists in 37 appearances for Bournemouth in the 2020/21 campaign — while they were a Championship outfit — still fresh in the memory.
