The future of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool is set to be a huge topic of discussion over the coming months as the superstar’s current contract at Anfield is set to expire in 2025, however, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said that “it’s not over” between the pair.

The winger has been part of the Premier League club since completing a move from AS Roma back in 2017 and the Egyptian star has become a legendary figure at the Merseyside outfit having helped deliver every trophy on offer to fans of the Reds.

Not only this, Salah will go down as one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever goalscorers having netted 214 times across the 352 appearances he has made on Merseyside – the fifth highest in the club’s history.

Having entered the final year of his contract, there is a chance that Salah will leave Liverpool next summer, however, Fabrizio Romano has stated that “it’s not over” between the pair.

There will be discussions over a new deal in the coming months admits the transfer expert and the decision to continue in the Premier League will come down to the club and the player once everything has been discussed.

Fabrizio Romano provides an update on Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool future

Speaking on the latest episode of CaughtOffside’s The Debrief podcast, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Salah’s situation at Liverpool and has revealed that the superstar could leave Anfield in 2025 but there will be discussions over a new deal.

“I think there is still a very concrete chance to see Mo Salah leaving, but what I’m sure about is that there will be conversations. There will be negotiations with Liverpool so it’s not over between Liverpool and Salah. The situation is still very much open. So again, there is a possibility to leave for sure, but it’s not guaranteed,” the transfer journalist said.

“There will be negotiations. There will be conversations. Mo Salah is open to negotiating and discussing with Liverpool. It’s about the length of the contract and the project they have at the club. Obviously, money is also an important factor for the final big contract in the career as a football player for Mo Salah.

“There will be conversations and it will happen quite soon. In the next months, there will be conversations with Mo Salah and with his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, as they will discuss a potential new deal for Mo and they will decide all together. I think it’s going to be a club and player decision.

“They will consider all the factors involved, but from what I’m told is that as of today, it’s not over between Salah and Liverpool. There is a chance to part ways at the end of the season, but there will be conversations, there will be negotiations. So let’s see how it goes.”

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

The 32-year-old attacker is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool and the two parties have not been able to secure an extension yet. He will be able to move on as a free agent if a new deal is not signed soon.

Salah will be able to negotiate with foreign clubs when the transfer window reopens in January. Liverpool must do everything in their power to tie him down to a new long-term deal before that.

The Egyptian has been exceptional for Liverpool since joining the club in 2017 and he has helped them win every major trophy. He has been in spectacular shape throughout his Liverpool career and his availability has been extremely impressive as well.

It is evident that the 32-year-old is extremely fit and he is good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the world. Even though he is 32, Liverpool should look to reward him for his performances with a new deal and keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

He is undoubtedly the best player at the club and Liverpool simply cannot afford to lose a player of his ability, consistency and availability.

The attacker is clearly capable of performing at a world class level for a few more seasons and Liverpool will benefit from keeping him at the club.

Ian Wright on Mo Salah future

Former Arsenal striker and Premier League legend Ian Wright believes that Salah will probably want to continue at Liverpool and break records with them in the coming seasons.

“I do get the impression that he will probably like to stay at Liverpool and break records. He has got that legacy to play for,” Wright told the Premier League. “Let’s say he stays for three years. Even if he dropped off in the last year, that’s 10 years of unbelievable service.

“I believe that he will probably stay if Liverpool go about it. And I know that people get very nervy around giving contracts to people in their 30s, but I think that he’s an exception in the way that he prepares himself and plays.”

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can finalise an agreement with the player and sort out his long term future so that he can focus on his football once again.

The player recently revealed that Liverpool are yet to approach him regarding a contract extension the club hierarchy will need to get their act together and sort out his future now.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is reportedly open to staying in Europe despite transfer rumours linking him with clubs in the Saudi Pro League as he nears the end of his contract with the Reds.

The Egypt international has been a star player for Liverpool for many years now, winning major honours such as the Premier League and the Champions League, and netting a remarkable 214 goals in 352 games for the Merseyside giants in total.

Salah has his admirers in Saudi Arabia, but it seems he’s also attracted enquiries from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus after he recently made it clear this would be his final season at Liverpool, with the player still open to staying in Europe for a while longer, according to a report from El Nacional.

The 32-year-old might not be at the very peak of his career right now, but he remains a world class talent and doesn’t seem to be showing much sign of slowing down, so could perhaps emulate someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, who is still going strong even as he approaches his 40th birthday.

Mohamed Salah to PSG or Juventus?

Salah transfer: Could Liverpool star move to PSG or Juventus?

PSG lost Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer, so it makes sense that they could be in the market for a top attacking player like Salah to help replace their former star.

Salah would surely be tempted by these projects, with both PSG and Juve tending to play in the Champions League and compete for major honours basically every season.

After conquering English football, it’s easy to imagine Salah might be tempted to test himself in another major European league, though he has already spent some time in Italy, representing both Fiorentina and Roma earlier in his career.

Liverpool fans will no doubt hope there’s still a chance, however, for them to keep Salah for a bit longer.

The 2024/25 campaign could be the last Mohamed Salah spends at Liverpool and the Reds could make a move for Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane next summer to replace the Egyptian superstar.

The Reds winger is out of contract at Anfield in 2025 and there is a lot of speculation around his future.

Many expect the 32-year-old to complete a move to Saudi Arabia in 2025 after being the subject of a £150m proposal from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad in 2023. The Middle Eastern outfit never made an attempt this summer as they could possibly be waiting to pick the winger up for free in 2025.

Liverpool signed Federico Chiesa from Juventus during the latest transfer window to add to their right-wing options but should Salah leave, the Merseyside club could bring in Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane as his replacement.

According to Todofichajes, the Reds have the German star on their list as the 28-year-old is not expected to renew his current deal with the Bundesliga giants.

Like Salah, Sane is out of contract in 2025 and from a financial point of view, it is a transfer that makes sense for the Reds.

Bayern Munich's Leroy Sane is a target for Liverpool

Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane is interested in Liverpool move

Bayern Munich plan to offer Sane a new deal during the current season but the winger has no intention of signing it, states Todofichajes.

The report says that the German star is very interested in a move to Liverpool as he wants to try his hand in the Premier League again having spent four years at Man City. The 28-year-old featured in 135 games for the Manchester club, scoring 39 goals alongside 43 assists.

Should Liverpool decide to make a move for Sane next summer, they will face competition from Saudi Arabian clubs, who are willing to offer the player a higher salary.

The Germany international is believed to want to remain in Europe for a few more years but it remains to be seen how persuasive Saudi Pro League clubs can be.

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah is nearing the end of his contract at the club and there have been rumours of a potential contract extension.

According to Football Insider, the Premier League side are doing everything in their power to tie him down to a new deal. They will sit down with the player and his representatives soon to discuss a new contract and it remains to be seen whether all parties can come to an agreement.

The 101-cap Egyptian international will be a free agent in 2025 and he is on the radar of Saudi Arabian clubs.

The report states that the player will demand a bumper new contract and it remains to be seen whether the club hierarchy is willing to break the bank for him. Even though he is in his 30s, he is performing at a world-class level and he has been an indispensable asset for the club. Salah is one of the best players in the world and he is fit enough to operate at this level for a few more seasons.

The report from Football Insider claims that both parties are keen to secure an agreement soon, and that will certainly come as a major boost for Liverpool.

The attacker has started the current season in impressive form, scoring three goals in three matches. He will look to guide Liverpool to trophies this season and sort out his long-term future at the club as well.

Liverpool will hope to match up to the European elite on a consistent basis, and they must hold onto their best players in order for that to happen. Keeping the Egyptian at the club should be one of their priorities.

Transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided a positive update on Mohamed Salah’s situation at Liverpool, playing down talk of the Egypt international definitely leaving Anfield at the end of his current contract.

Salah’s future is sure to be a top priority for Liverpool’s hierarchy to sort out as soon as possible, with the Reds at risk of losing the Egypt international on a free transfer in less than a year’s time.

Sources have told CaughtOffside about interest from Saudi Arabia, with some growing confidence that they’ll be able to sign Salah, but Romano insists Liverpool still plan to talk to the player at some point in the coming days, weeks or months about the possibility of signing a new contract.

See below for details on Romano’s YouTube channel, with the Italian reporter perhaps calming the LFC nerves a little with his latest update…

Romano says that even though it’s a possibility for Salah to leave Liverpool next summer, it’s not guaranteed, so Reds fans will just have to hope their club can do something to reach an agreement with the 32-year-old as soon as possible.

Salah has been a world class performer for Liverpool down the years and would be very difficult to replace if he did leave, as he remains one of the very finest attacking players in the world, despite his age.

Will Mohamed Salah stay at Liverpool?

Salah transfer not the only worry for Liverpool

Liverpool also have the rather worrying situation of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also both being free agents next summer, so one imagines the Merseyside giants will be very busy in the next few months trying to sort this all out.

Losing one of these players could be something the club could recover from, but all three leaving on free transfers would surely do huge amounts of damage to Arne Slot’s project, which has got off to a promising start so far.

Graeme Souness believes Liverpool are at risk of losing two of their star players to Real Madrid this summer.

The Reds have made a perfect start to life under new manager Arne Slot and enjoyed an emphatic 3-0 win over arch-rivals Manchester United prior to the international break.

However, there are looming fears regarding three of their most important players, with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all in the final year of their contracts.

Liverpool to lose Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk to Real Madrid?

Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool celebrates with teammate Virgil van Dijk, after scoring a goal, which was later ruled out for offside, following a VAR review during the Premier League match between Manchester United FC and Liverpool FC at Old Trafford on September 01, 2024 in Manchester, England.

Alexander-Arnold, in particular, has been regularly linked with Real Madrid over the past 12 months and Souness believes he would be a perfect fit for Los Blancos.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold is tailor-made for Real Madrid in terms of the way he plays, and he’s got an unbelievable delivery – not to mention he’s good friends with Jude Bellingham,” Souness said (via The Mirror).

“He could end up at Madrid and that message may already have been relayed to Liverpool. I don’t see any obvious reason to take Trent off against Manchester United, other than if they know he’s leaving.

“They’d still want to keep him on side for the rest of the season and he’ll go for free at the end of it. The message that he’s made up his mind may already have been relayed to the higher-ups at the club. He’s running his contract down. If you’re going to leave Liverpool, where else other than Real Madrid can you really go to better yourself?”

Souness didn’t stop there, admitting Van Dijk would also fit in well at the Santiago Bernabeu, although the Scot stressed that Liverpool cannot afford to lose all three players in one go.

“Liverpool can’t let all three of Trent, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk leave. I could see Trent at Real Madrid, I could see Van Dijk there as well,” he added.

“The point being that if you’re leaving Liverpool then the only place you’d really want to go is Madrid. Van Dijk might be getting older but he’s an athlete. You can still get a couple more good years out of him. He’s a better player than what Real already have in the likes of Antonio Rudiger.

“He’s more of a footballer, he’s a better athlete, better in the air and better on the ball. I wouldn’t even compare the two.”

Liverpool are looking likely to lose three of their star players to Saudi Arabia in next summer’s transfer window, sources with a close understanding of the situation have revealed to CaughtOffside.

Mohamed Salah has spoken publicly about this looking like being his final year at Anfield, and it seems PIF are ready to attack the situation and are confident of being able to lure the Egypt international to a Saudi Pro League club.

If Salah does move, CaughtOffside understands he will be offered a mammoth contract comparable to what Neymar is currently earning at Al Hilal, while sources also expect Reds stars Virgil van Dijk and Alisson to follow Salah to Saudi.

Van Dijk is also in the final year of his contract with Liverpool, and it is understood that the Merseyside giants have already earmarked Juventus defender Gleison Bremer as an ideal long-term replacement for the Dutchman.

Virgil van Dijk looks set to leave Liverpool

With Salah, there is already a replacement in the making with the recent signing of Federico Chiesa, but it is anticipated that LFC will also look for another wide-forward, with Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo having admirers at the club.

Liverpool transfer plans as stars set for Saudi moves

Finally, Alisson already has a replacement in place at Liverpool, with the Brazilian goalkeeper perhaps now set to make way for Giorgi Mamardashvili, who was signed from Valencia this summer, only to stay put at the Spanish club for one more season.

Mamardashvili is now expected to become Liverpool’s number one next season, and it really looks like it could be all change in Slot’s squad.

It was a relatively quiet summer for Liverpool this year, but it looks like fans can expect something very different in a year’s time when Salah, Van Dijk and Alisson likely all move on after long and successful careers at the club, helping to usher in a new era under Slot.

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

The Egyptian international is in the final year of his contract with the club and he could move on as a free agent next summer. There have been rumours of a potential contract extension, and a report from Liverpool Echo claims that the player is desperate to sign a new deal with the club.

Saudi Arabian clubs were keen on signing the player last year and Liverpool turned down a £150 million offer from Al-Ittihad back them. The Saudi clubs are still keen on securing his signature on a free transfer next summer and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

It appears that Salah is ready to extend his stay in the Premier League and the development should come as a major boost for Liverpool. He is undoubtedly their best attacker and Liverpool must do everything in their power to keep him at the club for as long as possible.

Liverpool must hold on to Mo Salah

Even though he is in his 30s, he remains a world class player who is performing with remarkable consistency. The Egyptian international has scored three goals in three games this season and he will look to guide his side to major trophies this season.

Apart from his contributions on the pitch, his availability remains one of his best attributes. The Egyptian has an outstanding fitness record and he has rarely missed a game for Liverpool.

The Reds simply cannot afford to lose a player of his calibre any time soon. They are already lacking in natural goalscorers and players like Darwin Nunez have not been able to live up to the expectations. Salah is an indispensable asset for Liverpool, and they must look to tie him down to a new deal.

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah recently revealed that this could be his final season with the club.

The 32-year-old Egyptian winger claimed that the club hierarchy is yet to open contract talks with him. His current deal expires in the summer of 2025 and he could leave the club on a free transfer.

Salah is one of the best players in the world and he is undoubtedly the best player at Liverpool. His departure would be a massive blow for the club and ideally, Liverpool should look to keep him for as long as possible.

Even though he is 32, the Egyptian has shown no signs of slowing down and he continues to perform a class level week in and week out. He has three goals in three appearances this season, and he could be a key player for Liverpool once again, as they look to compete for major trophies under a new manager.

Liverpool will need to keep their best players at the club if they want to compete with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City. Keeping Salah at the club would be ideal for them.

Liverpool plan Mohamed Salah contract talks
